Privacy Policy

Short version: We collect your email address only when you make a purchase, and we use it solely to deliver your activation code. We do not sell your data, run ads, or build profiles.

1. Who We Are

Golden Lily Enterprises, LLC ("Golden Lily," "we," "us," or "our") is a software company based in Louisiana, USA. We develop and publish mobile applications, including Scorch™. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with our website at golden-lily.com and our mobile applications.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to operate our services:

  • Email address — provided by you at the time of purchase. Used exclusively to send your activation code and, if needed, to respond to support requests.
  • Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. Stripe's privacy policy governs that data.
  • Basic analytics — our website uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated data about page visits (pages viewed, approximate geographic region, browser type). This data does not identify you personally and cannot be linked back to your email address.

Our mobile applications (including Scorch™) store all batch data, recipes, and notes locally on your device by default, and work fully offline.

Optional Cloud Backup. Scorch™ offers an opt-in Cloud Backup feature (off by default). If you turn it on, an encrypted copy of your batch data is uploaded to servers operated by Golden Lily Enterprises so you can restore it on a new device. We use this data only to provide the backup and restore service — we do not read it, sell it, share it, or use it for analytics or advertising. You can disable backup and permanently delete the server-side copy at any time from Settings → Cloud Backup inside the app, or by emailing hello@golden-lily.com.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your email address for the following purposes only:

  • Delivering your software activation code after a confirmed purchase.
  • Responding to support requests or refund inquiries you initiate.
  • Sending transactional emails related to your order (e.g., payment confirmation).

We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional messages. We do not use your email address for advertising or behavioral tracking.

4. Third-Party Services

We share data with the following service providers only to the extent necessary to operate our services:

  • Stripe (stripe.com/privacy) — payment processing. Stripe receives your email address and payment details to complete the transaction and issue a receipt.
  • Resend (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy) — transactional email delivery. Resend receives your email address in order to send your activation code.
  • Google Analytics (policies.google.com/privacy) — anonymous website analytics. No personally identifiable information is passed to Google Analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any other third parties.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email address only as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill your order, handle any support requests, and comply with applicable law (typically no longer than 3 years). You may request deletion of your email address at any time by contacting us.

Payment records are retained by Stripe in accordance with their policies and applicable financial regulations.

6. Cookies

Our website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising. Google Analytics may set cookies to distinguish users and sessions for aggregate reporting purposes. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@golden-lily.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

Our website and applications are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of our website or applications after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
